Others have been encouraged me to share an encounter I experienced in the early moments of 4th August, 2013 in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
I was woken at midnight from a deep, exhausted sleep by the sound of knocking on the motel door, and recognised the Lord was calling me. My spirit responded, “Speak Lord, your servant hears you” but my body was struggling to wake. I repeatedly heard,
– “I want to meet with you.” “I want to speak to you.”
I arose and slipped from our room into the public but deserted ‘hallway.’ There was a comfortable lounge chair there with a reading lamp already lit.
S: I asked myself, Is this an angel or the Lord?
– “I am the Lord your God. I want to meet with you.”
S: I responded, I want to meet with you, Jesus.
– “I am here that you* may have life and have it more abundantly.” *(This means you too.)
– “Hear my voice and I will be life to you.”
S: I shudder with wonder and sense the Lord waits for me.
S: I long for you, Lord. I have waited for this. By your grace… (In the previous days at Ffald-y-Brenin I had been in powerful public prayer but not met with the Lord in private encounter.)
My longing for Him turns into worship…
S: Almighty, Beloved… I was missing you.
– “I came.”
S: O Lord! (I fall to the floor.)
– I want to speak with you. There is a time coming that you need to prepare for and prepare your neighbours for. I am coming and my hosts with me. We will deliver the earth. My Word is in you* to speak this. *(This means you too.)
S: O Lord!
– Speak, servant of the Lord. Say, “The Lord is coming in magnificence and power to rescue and redeem the earth.” I am He who comes! Do you believe this, child?
S: I believe! (I was asking myself if this is the second coming or His kingdom come on earth.)
S: I repeat what I hear Him say: (as if in rehearsing what I will say to others.)
– “There is an encounter with the living God available to you.”
– “Would you do this?”
S: Yes Lord. (I see many spiritual warrior horseman assemble to ride.) It is 12.25am.
– “I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” This is what I would have you say.
I discern this message is for all – those within and outside the church and am quite overcome.
S: Lord, Give me all I need to do this. (Courage, skill, team, wisdom, healing, focus….)
I feel perfect calm.
– “That’s it. Now you can sleep.”
I write, Jesus has given me the motivation – the imperative….for all the tasks at hand.
I sing, This is the day that the Lord has made!
– “Go forth and multiply.”
I sense this can be fulfilled when ordinary people take a stand and say, “My house is a house of prayer.” These Local Houses of Prayer will usher Jesus’ kingdom into their neighbourhoods as another fulfillment of Genesis 1:28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Following this encounter, I sought Scripture on this (for confirmation and to expand my understanding of the spoken word.)
I heard “Ecclesiastes 3:5” which says there is a “time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones…”
I believe Jesus is encouraging us to know our value to Himand to make the crucial choices to set our priorities so we are together being built as His House of Prayer for All!
1 Peter 2:4-5 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Jeremiah 1: 9-10 Behold, I have put My words in your mouth to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.
Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Further into that night I read Ecclesiastes Chapters 3-12: in NKJV and find revelation progressively through the rest of the book that is relevant to our preparation and priorities. Plenty in this to ponder and sift: What building blocks remain and what go? Which labour is God given and assigned in this season? Hence, which actions will be fruitful?
In subsequent days I have heard,
– “Be at peace, I am with you to accomplish what I have commanded.”
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in Me… I go to prepare a house for you. I will bring you to myself that we may dwell there.
Ps 90:17 Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us and establish the work of our hands for us. Yes, establish the work of our hands.
John 15:27 And you also will bear witness because you have been with me from the beginning.
So be it.
