With tender respect for all people we invite you to pray about this  – to seek God’s heart and will. See 4 articles below that  given context and define the long term consequences of not standing up to defend the definition of marriage.

21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for a “Miracle for Marriage” 20th July – 10th August 2015

Australia’s Constitution says, “Humbly relying on the blessings of Almighty God”.  Alfred Deakin, one of the fathers of Australia’s Constitution and Australia’s second Prime Minister, offered the following prayer after the Constitution was finally ratified. “We pray that it may be the means of creating and fostering throughout all Australia a Christ-like Citizenship.”

Henry Parkes, known as the Father of Federation (1901), had a vision for Australia as “one people with a destiny…  we are pre-eminently a Christian people – as our laws, our whole system of jurisprudence, our constitution . . . are based upon and interwoven with our Christian belief . . .”. We are thankful for our strong Christian heritage and that is why it is important for people of faith to pray and speak up on the issues of our day.

Marriage is under attack again with the threat of a cross-party Bill to redefine marriage to be introduced on the 11th August 2015 into the Federal Parliament.  This is deeply concerning as our children always pay the price when we move away from our biblical foundations. The scripture says in Philippians 4:6, “Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

After much consultation with Christian leaders, prayer movement leaders and numerous representatives from many different denominations, it was decided to call for 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Marriage from 20th July to 10th August.

We are asking according to 2 Chronicles 7:14, for a “Miracle for Marriage”.  We need a miracle of God’s unmerited favour.  We need an outpouring of the Grace of God!   Our prayer will be for Revival and Transformation for Australia starting in the Church and reaching the whole community and changing the nation.

We call for ministers, priests and Christian leaders to celebrate MARRIAGE SUNDAY on the 9th August 2015 by preaching on marriage, sharing homilies on marriage and praying for marriage on the last Sunday of this 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting.

Prayer Plan

  1. Pray that marriage will remain in our nation’s laws as a lifelong covenant mutually entered into between a man and a woman according to God’s Word. We ask for a “Miracle for Marriage”. 2 Chronicles 7:14
  2. Pray for a true spirit of humility and repentance for the Body of Christ and restoration of sexual purity for the church and that this restoration in the church would then affect the nation. Ephesians 5:32
  3. Pray that the voice of our children and our Indigenous First Nation people will be heard at this important time. We pray for people of faith and others to be inspired to speak up for marriage and for our children’s future. That they will contact their local Federal Member of Parliament and State Senators and become an active part in the democratic process. We pray for the ability to speak the truth in love. Ephesians 4:15
  4. Pray that Sunday the 9th August will become a special celebration of Marriage in churches across Australia. Hebrews 13:4
  5. Cry out for Revival and Transformation for Australia starting in the Church and reaching the whole community and changing the nation. We pray for a great release of the Gospel of God’s love in Jesus Christ for every boy and girl and man and woman in Australia. John 3:16

Australian Marriage Prayer

Our Father in Heaven, we pray for Your continuing grace upon our nation Australia. We pray that marriage will remain in our nation’s laws as a lifelong covenant mutually entered into between a man and a woman according to God’s Word. We ask for a “Miracle for Marriage” and an outpouring of the Grace of God according to 2 Chronicles 7:14.

We dedicate ourselves afresh to be filled with the life, light, truth and love of God, asking You to soften our hearts, minds and wills. We repent of any wrong attitudes shown to those who want to redefine marriage. We want to walk in love with all people. Give us the desire to follow Your ways through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

We pray for a revival of Sexual Purity in our nation. We pray that all Australians may live under the blessings of the New Covenant made possible through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

We also pray for the voice of our children and our Indigenous First Nation people to be heard at this important time. We pray for people of faith and others to be inspired firstly, to speak up for marriage and the rights of our children to a mother and a father, and secondly, to  go and see their local Federal Member of Parliament and State Senators and to become an active part in the democratic process. We pray for the ability to speak the truth in love – Ephesians 4:15.

We pray that Sunday the 9th August will become a celebration of Marriage in churches all across Australia.

We thank you that your mercy will triumph over judgement.  James 2:13   We thank you for a ‘Tower of Babel Intervention’ as found in Genesis 11:9. We cry out for Revival and Transformation for Australia starting in the Church and reaching the whole community and changing the nation.

We pray for a great release of the Gospel of God’s love in Jesus Christ for every boy and girl and man and woman in Australia.

We ask You to deliver us from our sins and iniquities and restore our marriages. We pray for a marriage revolution in Australia and a revival of love in Australian families. We pray that Australia may become the Great South Land of the Holy Spirit; a holy nation living under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We pray this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Australian Marriage Prayer Declaration

We declare that marriage is a holy covenant given by God.  Hebrews 13:4  The Bible begins in Genesis with the gift of marriage and ends in Revelation with the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.  Genesis 2:24, Revelation 19: 7-9

The scriptures show that marriage between a man and a woman is a great mystery and an insight into the relationship between Christ and His Bride, which is the Church.  Ephesians 5: 22-33

The beauty of sexual complementarity of the male and the female is at the heart of marriage. Jesus said ”Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said that for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?”  Matthew 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:31, Genesis 2:24

We live in a time of great challenge to marriage. We declare the sovereignty of God in the midst of this challenge and give praise to God as Jehoshaphat did when he called a fast and instructed the singers who went before the army to say, “Give thanks to God for his mercy endures forever”. Jeremiah 32:17, 2 Chronicles 20:21

We ask, through the blood of Christ, that our nation be spared from every attempt to distort the true meaning of the Holy Covenant of marriage. Forgive us for our sins. Revelation 12:11

We invoke the blessing, mercy and healing love of God over all marriages, families and all the children of Australia in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

3. The Call for 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting for Marriage 20 July – 10 August 2015 contains two calls to repentance. You will notice in paragraph 2 of the Prayer Plan in Warwick Marsh’s email a call to pray for a true spirit of humility and repentance for the Body of Christ and restoration of sexual purity for the church and that this restoration in the church would then affect the nation. Ephesians 5:32. In the second paragraph of the Australian Marriage Prayer you will see a call to repent of any wrong attitudes shown to those who want to redefine marriage.

On Sunday 5 July 2015, the International United Day of Repentance, I spent most of the day standing in the gap in repentance regarding the five  common “trigger points” – significant national sins common to western nations –as they related to Australia. i.e. Replacing of God with Idols, Breaking of Covenants, Opposition and Hatred towards Israel,  Sanctification of Perversion, and Shedding of Innocent Blood.

Whilst the segment on  Sanctification of Perversion was focused on the homosexual attack on biblical marriage throughout the western world today, the Lord had me stand in the gap for our nation Australia to repent firstly of sanctification of unrighteous changes affecting biblical marriage and sexual laws,  enacted into law by previous Australian governments over the last 50 years or so, which have paved the way for this latest push for same-sex-marriage.

I repented for the no-fault divorce law enacted by the Whitlam ALP government in 1975, which sanctified adultery, and which has led to many adulterous marriages and fatherlessness throughout our nation and within the church in Australia. I also repented for under-handed attempts by certain judicial members of our High Court to re-interpret our Constitution to allow same-sex marriage to be legal in Australia. Attached at img028.jpg is a copy of a Courier Mail article exposing that under-handed action.  In retrospect, last Sunday I did not get to repent for other laws enacted in our nation which established “ages of consent” for heterosexual and homosexual acts, which, in truth, sanctify all sexual sin outside marriage, above those ages of consent, contrary to the Word of God.

The need for repentance for the national sins mentioned in my last paragraph above is not new to me, but it may be new to some of you. All of those laws mentioned have compromised the sanctity of Marriage in our society and within the church in nation, and we need to stand in the gap, now,  and repent for all that compromise, which I don’t believe has been addressed in today’s context.

I came to saving faith in  early 1991 at age 52 and I received an anointing as a watchman, in the style of Ezekiel, in 1992. In the interval between 1992 and December 2000 the Lord had used me on many occasions to send written specific calls for repentance to numerous church leaders, parliamentarians, and others. But none of those assignments were as expansive as the task I am about to describe.

In December 2000, as our nation was preparing to celebrate the Centenary of Federation in 2001, our Lord had me send a large letter to over 500 top secular and Christian leaders in our nation calling for repentance for many specific issues of sin in our land. You can read the list of recipients attached at 500Letter-14Dec2000 – Distribution List. The Lord had worked painstakingly with me over several weeks to prepare that letter which covered many aspects of life in Australia. Since I did not have a computer at that time the Lord had me very neatly hand-write the twelve tightly-written pages of that letter, and embed appropriate typed scriptures in it. I mailed it via Australia Post personally addressed to every one of those listed recipients. Over the next couple of months I received 30-40 replies, most of which merely acknowledged receipt of my letter and thanked me for sharing my concerns/thoughts. I did however receive a response from homosexual Judge Michael Kirby of the High Court, a copy of which is attached at img031.jpg.

I am not aware of any repentance that was done as a result of that letter, but that did not surprise me. Brothers and sisters in Christ said to me that the letter was too big, they wouldn’t read it, or you should only send them your message on one page if you want them to read it. But I knew what the Lord had said to me on more than one occasion, and you can read that for yourselves at Ezekiel 2: 1-8 and Ezekiel 3: 4-9, as applied to Australia.

In mid-2001 the Lord provided me with a computer and had a man I knew teach me to use it. I then commenced the AIPN email prayer network. At the same time an intercessor who came into possession of a copy of that 14 December 2000 letter, typed it as a Word document and sent it to me. I have attached a copy of that 21 page typed version at 500Letter14Dec2000 . In doing so I am not boasting in any way, but am obeying the Lord in providing it to you, as a possible background source for you to use in intercession. On pages 10-12 of that letter you can read what the Lord had me say to the recipients at that time about the divorce act, the High Court judges, and the ages of consent issues. I invite you to spend time in repentance for those issues, for those mentioned in Warwick Marsh’s email, and any others the Lord may reveal to us, during the coming  21 Days of Prayer & Fasting for Marriage.

In August 2004 the Howard Coalition Government amended our  Marriage Act 1961 by including the biblical definition of Marriage. You can read about that in the attachment titled Marriage Amendment Act 2004. You may be interested to know that our Lord had brother John Comino of Sydney plan a Men’s Prayer Summit in the Senate Theatrette in Parliament House for that same time. I was fortunate to attend that summit. We legislated in the Spirit for the approval of that Bill, and later watched the Senate vote and pass the Bill, Hallelujah!

4. Implications from 10 years of Same Sex Marriage in Canada

ATTENTION: This affects every man, woman & child in Australia
THIS IS NOT JUST A CHRISTIAN ISSUE. IT AFFECTS MUSLIMS, JEWS, BUDDHISTS, HINDUS, SIKHS, AND  PEOPLE WHO DON’T BELIEVE IN GOD.

The Canadian parliament passed the same-sex law in 2005, and now 10 years later a child of same-sex parents tells how this law affected people all over the country, because its affects spread right across the nation into other areas of people’s lives.
THE FULL ARTICLE IS AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET AT:
http://www.thepublicdiscourse.com/2015/04/14899/
Here are some major points extracted from this article.

Canada’s Lessons as a result of this bill being passed:

a. Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, and freedom of association have suffered greatly due to government pressure.
b. The debate which is going on in the USA (and presently going on now here in Australia right now) could not be legally discussed in Canada right now. This is because of the restrictions on “free speech”.
c. If you say or write anything considered by the Canadian Government to be “homophobic” (which means anything which even questions the definition of “marriage”, or same-sex marriage), or quote biblical scriptures which state that homosexuality is a sin, you could face discipline, termination of employment, or prosecution by the government.
d. Children’s rights have been eroded. No longer are the biological parents allowed to raise their children, as described under the United Nations Charter, in their own choice, selecting their own way of life, or religion, and deciding at what age they will be taught about sexual education.
e. Already here in Australia in Victoria, the “Safe Schools Program” has been introduced in schools, which teaches sexual behaviour in classes as low as first class. Homosexuality is deemed to be “normal” in this curriculum.
f. In Canada, when people wanted to take their children out of similar classes, they were deemed by the Canadian government to be “unfit parents” and the children were removed from their care under this law.
g. Children raised up in same-sex marriage households have been found to suffer a higher number of emotional sicknesses than children raised in a man/woman marriage relationships.
h. The politicians tell us that “permitting same-sex couples access to the designation of marriage will not deprive anyone of any rights. THAT IS A LIE!!
i. When same-sex marriage was legalised in Canada in 2005, parenting was immediately re-defined. Canada’s Gay Marriage Bill C38, included a provision to remove the term “Natural Parent” (which means the biological parent) and replace it with a term right across the board with gender-neutral “Legal Parent” IN ALL FEDERAL LAWS.
j. This means that in Canada now all children only have “legal parents”, as determined by the state. By legally erasing biological parenthood, the Canadian Government has removed the children’s rights to know and be raised by their own biological parents.
k. This bill, if introduced into Law in Australia, without the legal safeguards for the children will mean that children lose all their rights, as defined under the United Nations Charter, and the Government will be able to decide how your children shall be raised, what sex education they shall be taught, and how and at what age they shall by taught sex education is schools.
l. Please be aware that is a subtle battle for the hearts and minds of the next generation, To have them raised up in a society where there is no distinction between male and female, any type of sexual behaviour is OK and without any consequences. THIS IS A LIE!!!
m. We have seen people who own a baker’s shop fined for refusing to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple, yet a gay baker who refused to bake a cake for a Christian couple was not penalised at all.
n. Pastors have been threatened with imprisonment if they refuse to marry same-sex couples, even though many religious books clearly identify that this is wrong.
o. If this law is passed without protection provisions, then Pastors, Mullahs, Marriage Celebrants, Buddhist Monks, and leaders of Hindu and Sikh communities will be subject to imprisonment is they refuse to “marry” same-sex couples.
p. As I have said in the heading, this Bill affects every fibre of our society and we cannot allow it to become law.
q. IT IS TIME FOR ALL AUSTRALIANS TO WAKE UP AND BE HEARD ON THIS ISSUE.
s. It is time for all Australians to let their Federal and State politicians know that this is not a good thing for this nation and that this Bill must be defeated when it comes up for a vote.
