These are the last days that Jesus described in Matthew 24 as the days just before His second coming. My great – grandparents prepared for these days so they have been anticipated for at least six generations back in our family! How awesome that we are the ones alive to witness what God is doing!
These are the days when our whole world is getting darker. We need to repent for the years we have been asleep at our watch and for tolerating and accommodating pervasive evil. We gratefully honour our Lord’s tender faithfulness in protecting the Australian body of Christ and for preparing us over many years for the battle we are now facing! We acknowledge the courageous leaders who have communicated so clearly and constructively across our nation in recent months. We had heard the Lord say that the marriage battle was His way of mobilising His spiritual army for what lies ahead, and many shook of their sleepiness and arose to pray and serve magnificently! As darkness grows, the light of Jesus in us is shining more and more brightly – so those in darkness see Jesus and are drawn into His light.
those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.
You have multiplied the nation; you have increased its joy;
they rejoice before you as with joy at the harvest…” (Isaiah 9:2-3)
These are the days when representatives of ten Indigenous Australian people groups from across our continent were quite spontaneously gathered by God with other Australian and Jewish intercessors at Uluru – in October for Hearts Melted as One. A sudden move of the Spirit of God, led senior Indigenous to spontaneously repent of their sins and the sins of their forefathers – declaring the land belongs to God! This was on a date when the Lord had told us he wanted a national solemn assembly for this purpose – and He did this His way!
These are the days when our nation and the earth is being shaken socially, culturally and spiritually. Do not fear when you see this. We have prayed that unrighteousness and injustice will be removed and replaced with the goodness, mercy and abundant life offered by God to us each. Our nations’ foundations are being tested and relaid. If the spiritual foundations, the apostolic and prophetic foundations, are cracked – it is as if the plug is not in the bath. Even though God is pouring out His grace, presence and kingdom on earth – a person or region cannot fill and overflow to those around them.
During Shift the Nation the Lord showed us that Melbourne’s spiritual gate is broken by disunity. Pray we repent to each other of our judgements and disunity and become one with God and each other. We humbly ask for your prayer support – so the historic foundations of our unity are healed and relaid. Jesus waits to build His House of Prayer for All Nations in this generation! Pray that we all, as spiritual gate keepers, assert our governance over our tongues, families, neighbourhoods, cities, regions and nations.
With the angels, nations and mountains – tremble awed worship before our God. (Hebrews 1:6, Isaiah 64:1-2, Psalms 86:9)
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts!
Worship the Lord in the splendour of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!
Say among the nations, ‘The Lord reigns!'” (Psalm 96:7-10)
2. Connect with other disciples of Jesus in your sphere of influence to pray and praise together. and listen to what our Father is saying and pray as His Spirit leads you. (See the brick pattern below.) We are spiritual stones being built as one temple. To survive the shaking we need to align like rows of bricks in a wall. We need to have each other’s backs and cover each other in the places where each is weak. It’s a new wine skin built on love. We are like Nehemiah, doing our part in rebuilding God’s spiritual walls and gates around our neighbourhoods, cities and nations!
