You too??? Why not?

LET US KNOW if you pray and connect with your neighbourhood, workplace or sphere of influence with an intention to bless them and see Jesus and His kingdom come to them…

Do you have reasons why not to do it??

I was praying by myself for my neighbourhood but believing a common lie that solo prayer didn’t count.  Is that you too? We are not insignificant – we are like faithful Daniels! We are door keepers in the house of God – praying for those who have soft hearts to God’s Spirit- inviting Jesus’ kingdom to come and reign in our territories!

My stated excuse for why I wasn’t going out to prayer walk and connect in my neighbourhood (in a Luke 10 way) was because  I didn’t have a 2×2 prayer partner. (Laugh with me – that’s an ironic lie.) When I asked God, “What is stopping me?” I found my real reason not to go was fear and that surprised me because it was deeply suppressed and denied. I feared causing offense; rejection; fruitlessness; exercise! (Laugh with me!) I repented and asked the love of God to cast out all fear. 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear (and me LOL) out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].

I asked the perfect love of God to fill me instead of fear so I can love Jesus enough to obey and go with trust  His leading and I can love my neighbours enough to be real and really loving to them.

I pray now for those of you who have blockages…1 Peter 5:14 To all of you that are in Christ Jesus (the Messiah), may there be peace (every kind of peace and blessing, especially peace with God, and freedom from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts). Amen (so be it).

If I had gone in obedience rather than love it would have been because of a should – a Biblical mandate in my head and it could have been painful and fruitless. But when I invited God’s love to fill me I was motivated by peace and confidence.  “He would!” (WWJD – Laugh with me!)

Before I left my house I waited on God. I needed to “Be Still!” to hear His heartbeat over mine and to feel His pleasure in this. I heard, “I have loved them with an everlasting abiding love.” We know this is a Biblical command but I wanted God’s heart for me on the matter so I asked for Scripture and heard “2Samuel 7:21-” My heart really beats when I read from 25-29 because I know a call on my life is to see God’s blessings flow from His House of Prayer for All.

2Samuel 7:21-29 “For the sake of your word and according to your will, you have done this great thing and made it known to your servant.22 “How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears. 23 And who is like your people Israel—the one nation on earth that God went out to redeem as a people for himself, and to make a name for himself, and to perform great and awesome wonders by driving out nations and their gods from before your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt? 24 You have established your people Israel as your very own forever, and you, Lord, have become their God.

25 “And now, Lord God, keep forever the promise you have made concerning your servant and his house. Do as you promised, 26 so that your name will be great forever. Then people will say, ‘The Lord Almighty is God over Israel!’ And the house of your servant David will be established in your sight. 27 “Lord Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you.’ So your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you. 28 Sovereign Lord, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant. 29 Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, Sovereign Lord, have spoken, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed forever.”

God is so gracious to us! His love and grace can overflow my psychological and spiritual blockages and boundaries. He inhabits us as His temple- but He will extend His inhabitation into our sphere of influence if we let Him.

I prayed Jesus’ kingdom would leak through my footsteps and encounters with my neighbours giving me divine insight in how to bless their lives, their households and speak God’s destiny for them. I prayed too for divine opportunities to smile, speak and build relationships – living stones with which God will build His House.

I simply sent a text to my prayer partner to go with me in Spirit with me and I was off to prayer walk my neighbourhood and see what God will do in the coming days…

Will you too? Why Not!!! Let us know….
