Melbourne Bible Reading Marathon Thurs 2 March – Sun 5 March

From 2pm Thursday 2 March the public Bible Reading Marathon will continue day and night 24/7 in front of the State Library, 328 Swanston Street Melbourne until the 5th of March.

Would you come with friends to cover a block of time? 3-4 people are needed on site for 2-3 hours in each session so ideally you would bring a team of friends – perhaps a church group. Men are needed during the night hours. Please ring up to arrange when you can come so the time slots are evenly shared.

There will be a gazebo with chairs for people to sit on and a microphone. Each person will read for 15 minutes, then take a break, then read for another 15 minutes and so on. During breaks there is opportunity to speak with people who are on the outskirts of the listening public and hand out provided tracts and Gideon bibles. Young people in particular are very open to discussions – so we hope many young people will lead sessions – especially late night ones.

The Melbourne Bible Marathon is hosted by the Arrow Prayer Tower in Swanston Street from different churches and Christian Federation ministry who believe that it is important to broadcast and retain a knowledge of God’s Word in our Nation.

Bible Marathons are being held in  6 cities around Australia in association with the National Day of Prayer & Fasting and the 40 Days ere will be 3 other Capital Cities doing the same thing.
