Pray God’s Will for Victoria in this Election

Do you know God’s will for Victoria at this crucial time?

We have entered a time when God is preparing His people. God calls us as He did Jeremiah when Babylon descended upon Israel: Jeremiah 15:19-21 Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, Then I will bring you back; You shall stand before Me; If you take out the precious from the vile, You shall be as My mouth. Let them return to you, But you must not return to them. And I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall; And they will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you; For I am with you to save you And deliver you,” says the Lord. “I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked, And I will redeem you from the grip of the terrible.”We are to return, stand before Him and take out the precious from the vile. If we, as God’s people, will separate what is clean from what is unclean, holy from what is common – God will make us as His mouth and make us His fortified bronze wall. The enemy will not prevail against us because He will deliver us!Will Victoria be delivered by this election on the 26 November 2022?We take heed, watch and pray but we do not know when the time of our deliverance will come. (Mark 13:33). We don’t know the timing of Jesus’ return, but we do know who and whose we are to become in the mean time.

Pray God’s will for Victoria: that we let Jesus prepare us as His Bride.

Jesus has paid the cost to prepare and present His Church to Himself, as His holy, blameless bride.Ephesians 5:25-27 “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.”2 Peter 3:11-14 “Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless…”

Submit yourself to Love

It occurs to me that God may leave Victoria under this government until – and in order that – we submit to His sanctification and cleansing.This time of pressure, shaking and even persecution in Victoria – is our opportunity, as His Church in Victoria, to let Jesus prepare us to be wholly His – so we are His light in darkness and His love in our world.During our journey as Pray4Victoria: Light in Darkness – right through the darkest hours of 2020-2022 – the Lord has had us position ourselves humbly before Him in trusting submission, faith and adorational worship. He drew us to look to Him and He required that we not speak or act in ways that dishonour our Premier and current state government because this would jeopardise our purity of heart and posture of love. Romans 13:1-10 Our Relationship to Civil Authorities  This is a relevant guide to how to pray for the Victorian elections. It was written under a harsh ungodly government but rather than calling His people to denounce the government or rebel, God called the early Christian church to submit and support the authorities over them and to love well. Romans 13:1-2 “Every person must submit to and support the authorities over him. For there can be no authority in the universe except by God’s appointment, which means that every authority that exists has been instituted by God. So to resist authority is to resist the divine order of God, which results in severe consequences.” Romans 13:8-10 “Don’t owe anything to anyone, except your outstanding debt to continually love one another for the one who learns to love has fulfilled every requirement of the law.” For the commandments, “Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet,” and every other commandment can be summed up in these words: “Love and value others the same way you love and value yourself.” Love makes it impossible to harm another, so love fulfills all that the law requires.” Romans 13:11-14 Living in the Light  This is a relevant Word for Victoria – paralleling our call to ‘Pray4Vic: Light in Darkness.’ “To live like this is all the more urgent, for time is running out and you know it is a strategic hour in human history. It is time for us to wake up! For our full salvation (or perfect wholeness) is nearer now than when we first believed.” …“a new day of destiny dawns. And once and for all we clothe ourselves with the radiance of light as our weapon. We must live honorably, surrounded by the light of this new day, not in the darkness of drunkenness, not in promiscuity and sensuality, not being argumentative or jealous of others.”“Instead fully immerse yourselves into the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, and don’t waste even a moment’s thought on your former identity to awaken its selfish desires.” 1 Peter 1:4-5 “We are reborn into a perfect inheritance that can never perish, never be defiled, and never diminish. It is promised and preserved forever in the heavenly realm for you! Through our faith, the mighty power of God constantly guards us until our full salvation is ready to be revealed in the last time.”
