Do You Receive & Release the Blessing of God?

We are in the time of Elijah, when the land is in drought.
We are crying out for God to reveal Himself.

Many struggle between trusting God or His enemy. We have to choose between doing things based on the abundant eternal life that God offers us or our ‘knowledge of what is good for us.’ If we are deceived by the enemy into consuming from “the tree of knowledge of good & evil” we will die after a brief painful, laboured life, cursed and separated from God.

If we will turn our hearts to each other across the generations the Spirit of Elijah offers the the transmission of His inter-generational blessing on us and our land.

Does this older generation have God’s blessing to impart to younger ones?
Are the hearts of the older ones turned to them to impart blessing?
Are the younger ones postured, like Elisha, to receive God’s double blessings?Deuteronomy 30:19 “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”

Live fully blessed as a child of God and leave behind any
ways you still operate under cursing – as a spiritual orphan.

Father God’s Blessing

Cursing

1A. God has made Himself known to us as Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

God seeks a reconciled relationship with us all as His beloved children and offers everyone the choice to receive the free gift of salvation by grace through Jesus and the blessings of an abundant and eternal life.*

* tree of life Genesis 2:9, John 3:16, Ephesians 1:3, 1 Peter 1:3-5

1B. Separation from God began in heaven when one of God’s created beings wanted to be equal to God and led a rebellion against God.  Ezekial 28:16-17, Isaiah 14:12-17, Revelation 12:7-10

2 Samuel 15:23 Rebellion against God is witchcraft and stubborn arrogant presumption is iniquity and idolatry.

The enemies of God continue to try to deceive us, accuse us and separate us from God and life through curses, rebellious destructive patterns of thinking and action,  and schemes that kill, steal and destroy. 1 Peter 5:8, John 8:44, 10:10, Ephesians 6:12, James 4:7

If we have not yet responded to God, we are spiritual orphans, sinners vulnerable to the enemies’ curses and judgements. Daniel 9:11, Romans 3:23

2A. The good news is that Jesus came as God’s Son to make the way for us to be forgiven for our sins, saved and reconciled to God – as our Father in heaven.

Galatians 3:13-14 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us…  that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Jesus is the way to truth and life in the Father.

Sons* focus on Jesus who modelled how to live as our Father’s sons on earth, completely reflecting what our Father is saying and doing. John 5:19, John 12:49-50, John 14:10.

*Sonship is an inclusive relationship, not a gender term.

The sons of God are led by His Spirit into truth and into Sonship with God as our Father. John 15:26, John 16:13, 1 John 4:6, Romans 8:14-17, Galatians 4:6

2B. The sad news is many of us do not accept the blessing of salvation by grace.

 Deuteronomy 11:26-28, Hebrews 6:7-8

One of God’s created beings wanted to be equal to God and led a rebellion against God. Ezekial 28:16-17, Isaiah 14:12-17, Revelation 12:7-10

These enemies of God work to curse us, deceive us, accuse us and separate us from God and life through curses, rebellious destructive patterns of thinking and action,  and schemes that kill, steal and destroy.1 Peter 5:8, John 8:44, 10:10, Ephesians 6:12, James 4:7

2 Samuel 15:23 Rebellion against God is witchcraft and stubborn arrogant presumption is iniquity and idolatry.

Orphans often don’t usually realise we are rebellious. We just feel no-one is trustworthy and that we have to be independent, and rely on our own version of knowledge of what is good and evil,* and our own efforts. *Genesis 2:9

This makes orphans vulnerable to lies delusion, to living in denial, confusion and escapism, to being manipulative and trying to gain favour by pleasing people.

Orphans pursue counterfeit lifestyles e.g. success, elitism, indulgence, control and religious performance. Luke 3:3-6 TPT, Psalm 38:12, 2 Thessalonians 2, 2 Peter 2:12-14

3A. Father God offers the blessing of abundant and eternal life to all who will believe. John 3:16

God also blesses us with Identity & Gifts, Callings, Anointings, God’s Perspective, Protection, Provision.

Our Father in heaven pours sunlight and rain on the righteous and unrighteous, but only those who accept His rule and reign and do what He asks, fully receive the blessings that flow as a natural consequence and as supernatural grace.
Psalm 85 TPT, Matthew 5: 44-45, John 13:17

3B. God’s blessing falls on all – but we all miss out to some extent  because we do not have eyes to see and ears to hear and our hearts are hard, resisting the Holy Spirit and refusing to accept God’s protective commands. Deuteronomy 11:26-29

Our hearts can be hardened by defensiveness and bitter root judgements, unhealthy expectations, rigid and wrong views of God. Matthew 13:15-17

4A. God designed us to be protected, loved and nurtured within the covenant of marriage and natural and spiritual families.

It is critical that parents and children turn their hearts to each other.
Malachi 4:4-6 Lo, I will send you the prophet Elijah before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of parents to their children and the hearts of children to their parents, so that I will not come and strike the land with a curse.”

4B. God’s heart is that orphans are taken care of.

Hebrews 13:5 “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
John 14:18 “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”

It is critical that we turn our hearts to orphans.

James 1:27 Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” Isaiah 58

5A. Blessing flows through sonship.
Those who are aligned to God as sons receive an inheritance. Acts 20:32, Colossians 3:23-25God’s blessing flows through natural and spiritual parents who doubly bless God’s sons through relationship and inheritance. 2 Kings 2:9-10

5B. Orphans are vulnerable to the enemy’s plans to curse and destroy us.

We live as orphans, outside the protection God, in aspects of our life where we deny or reject God’s reign. As a direct consequence these areas of our life remains vulnerable to attack by God’s enemy.

Orphans have to labour to earn what we receive and so we live as servants or slaves. Orphans do not inherit. Genesis 3:17, Deuteronomy 15:4-5

6A. Sons secure a long life in the land God is giving them, when they honour their parents.

Exodus 20:12 “Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”

Honouring natural and spiritual parents sounds like we’re giving them medals. “Respect” may be easier to understand. We are called to respect our parents because they are the channels of life God has given us – whether or not they have been able to fulfil this.

We can only receive God’s blessing through our parents if we respect them. Respect indicates our receptiveness to what God wants to give us through this channel of His love and blessing.1 Corinthians 4:14-16

6B. Spiritual orphans dishonour our natural and spiritual parents.

Dishonour, often arising from fear and judgement, cuts off communication and relationship.

Dishonouring our parents curses us, cutting us off from a long life and our place in our family and the land. Exodus 20:12, Malachi 4:6

Dishonour closes our hearts to God’s blessing and the people God intended us to receive blessing through. Orphans feel alone and do not know who to look up to or trust or how to recognise safe spiritual fathers. Orphans are drawn to people who will take advantage of us. Ask the Spirit to lead you. Romans 8:14-17

7A. Sons know all human parents fall short –as you know if you are a parent yourself.

James 2:12-14 “Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.”

To receive mercy, sons, give mercy.

To receive forgiveness, freedom and insight, sons, confess your sin and forgive our enemies and our parents. Matthew 5:44, 15:4, Romans 12:14, 1 Peter 3:9

7B. Spiritual Orphans believe the accuser’s lies and hold judgements.

If we suppress or nurture deep hurts, offense and judgements, rather than confessing them and forgiving those who have hurt us, and being healed, we stay bound in destructive patterns and cycles and we become cut off from relationships and from receiving and passing on God’s blessing. Our children miss out because we cannot pass on to others what we have not received.

Confess the sins of your family line and ask Jesus to turn your curses into blessings.

8A. As priests and parents, we are to speak blessings over our people and the land.

Numbers 6:22-27 “Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing:
“May the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favour and give you his peace.” Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.”

Revelation 5:10 “And you have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God. And they will reign on the earth.”

We have the privilege to release God’s blessing-His Kingdom come –on the land, flora, fauna and people around us.

God established patterns for fathers to speak His blessings weekly and throughout life – conception, birth, childhood, adolescence, marriage, spiritual maturity and old age.

8B. We are cursed when we speak the words of the accuser in judgement and condemnation and speak oaths, vows and curses against God, ourselves, our parents, descendants and spiritual fathers and leaders. Matthew 7:1-2, James 3:10

Our ungodly words, wrongful agreements, contracts, covenants, idols and ungodly prayers give the enemy legal authority to accuse, bind and destroy us and our families and leaders and nations.

When the Holy Spirit leads us to repent and apply the blood of Jesus, God closes the legal entry to the enemy that was opened by our words and sets us free, heals and restores us and those who have also been cursed and held in bondage. 1 Peter 3:8-12, Mark 14:66-72, John 21:15-19

9A. Blessed sons are free to maintain healthy reconciled relationships, have a whole and separate identity, and flourishing mature life, faithfully persisting, enduring suffering, fulfilling our personal purposes and destiny in interdependence as the family of God.

Parents provide a foundation, not a ceiling.

Parents are blessed by their adult children leaving home, and by their levels of success. Ephesians 4:11-16, James 1:12

9B. Cursed or unblessed offspring remain in bondage to our parents in two alternative ways:

We can either be trapped in dependency, trying to get approval from our parents.

Or we can reject our parents and their patterns and veer blindly, reactively and rebelliously in our own destructive way.

10A. Spiritually mature sons glorify God by reflecting their Father’s likeness- His glory.

To glorify is to acknowledge and reveal the majesty and splendour of God by one’s actions.

You Father’s face shines with love when He looks at you. Take some time looking into His face so you know His love for you. Numbers 6:24-26, Hebrews 2:10-11

God intends that we live in harmony as spiritual family. This is what the world waits to see. John 17:23

10B. Spiritual orphans, need God to open our eyes to see who our Father really is and how much we mean to Him. Acts 26:17-19, Colossians 1:3-6

John 14:18 “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”

We are never too old to be adopted and receive our true identity and fulfill our destiny.

Jesus has made the way for us each.

Galatians 4:4-7 “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

11A. God speaks of blessing in terms of having children. Sons raise sons as a succeeding generation.

God seeks children who will multiply His likeness – His goodness, kindness, love, joy, peace to all. Genesis 1:28, 9:1, 22:16-18

11B. In our culture contraception and abortion enable sexual liberty and a child free lifestyle.

Present and future generations are being cursed by a godless society, broken marriage, abuse, and the pornography and human slavery industries.

12A. Jesus sends us to go with Him as His ambassadors to the world. 2 Corinthians 5:18

As we partner with Jesus in His kingdom on earth, we see the promises and plans of God lift the curses off our land and His blessings flow.

May the knowledge of His glory fill the earth and His kingdom come on earth as in heaven!
Romans 15:9, Hebrews 8:11, Habakkuk 2:14

Revelation 5:12-13 “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!” “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”

12B. The consequences of sin are cursing brokenness, fragmentation, divided relationships and scattered people. 1 Corinthians 3:3, Galatians 5:19-21

Some have no oil in their lamps. Some who call Jesus Lord will be shocked to hear Jesus say he never knew us. Matthew 25:3, Matthew 7:22-23

Some of us will move further and further into isolation, darkness and destruction. Matthew 7:13, Matthew 25:35, 41, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-10

Revelation 22:3-4 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.”
