School Student Prayer Banned in Victoria

You wouldn’t think it could happen in Australia…

The Victorian Government is prohibiting student-run lunchtime prayer groups, bible studies and fellowships in an extraordinary attack on student freedom.

The Napthine Government has introduced a new policy that bans prayer groups in our public schools.

Not only are students not allowed to participate in prayer groups, they are not allowed to organise lunchtime Bible studies, advertise a church or religious event or give their friends a Bible or Christian music DVD.

Lunchtime student prayer groups and bible study groups have now been prohibited.

Such voluntary, student-run groups provide support and encouragement for likeminded kids who want to explore their faith.

The school experience is supposed to be about opening our minds to life’s big ideas but it seems there are some ideas just too controversial for the Victorian government.

Religious freedom is a basic human right.  It is protected by Victorian and international law.

Please help us reverse this attack on student freedom.

Email your state MP today and ask them to scrap the prayer group and Bible study group bans.

Thank you for your support.  Please be in prayer for our kids

God bless
