Tears are Powerful

“Those who sow in tears shall reap with shout of joy.” Psalm 126:5

Are there people you know who need to be saved?

It has been said, “There are no souls without tears.”

Lord, we repent for not caring enough to weep for the unsaved people around us. Luke 19:41-42 “When Jesus caught sight of the city, he burst into tears with uncontrollable weeping over Jerusalem, saying, “’If only you could recognize that this day peace is within your reach! But you cannot see it.'”

Lord, open our eyes to see the desperation around us and the swift justice available if we will pray with persistent faithfulness! Luke 18:7-14 “Don’t you know that God, the true judge, will grant justice to all of his chosen ones who cry out to him night and day? He will pour out his Spirit upon them. He will not delay to answer you and give you what you ask for. God will give swift justice to those who don’t give up. So be ever praying, ever expecting, just like the widow was with the judge. Yet when the Son of Man comes back, will he find this kind of persistent faithfulness in his people? Jesus taught this parable to those who were convinced they were morally upright and those who trusted in their own virtue yet looked down on others with disgust.” (Read on Luke 18:10-14)

Lord, we have prayed for the lost with bitter tears of disappointment, frustration, contempt and condemnation  – but these tears did not move them or You. Lord, focus us on theday they will say, ‘Behold! This is our God! We’ve waited for him, and he saved us! This one, the Lord Yahweh—he is worth the wait! We will keep shouting with joy as we find our bliss in his salvation-kiss!’” Isaiah 25:9

Father, we will wait on You until You break our heart with what breaks Yours. Move us with how deeply You love the precious ones we pray for. Move us with Your compassion to pray Your will that none should perish (Matthew 18:14). Holy Spirit, enable us to persist until we weep tears of humble repentance, tender compassion and raw intercession. Equip and lead us to tell them that Your gracious mercy and abundant life is available to all who repent, just as Jesus did. Hebrews 7:25 “Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”

Lord we declare, we will taste tears of joy and gratitude when our loved ones repent! (Luke 15:7)
