Part 1: Australia, will  you pray for the Victorian Elections?

“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity —the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. Will you pray for Victoria from wherever you are in Australia?

Please forgive us for our ungodly influence and stand in prayer with us to turn the impact of Victoria to a kingdom influence in our nation and region.

In 2020 when God called us to Pray4Victoria, we had to forgive our Premier and Government for the evil legislation, extreme lockdowns and secret contracts, so Jesus could purify our hearts and excise the root of evil that has flowed from Victoria’s foundations.

This can only be done by being reconciled as one in Christ, Australia,
because the evil we are dealing with is enmity with God – which is also expressed as enmity between states, people groups etc.

PROPHETIC PLAN: The Vein of Victoria

For a week now I keep seeing a picture. As I pray for my nation, I keep seeing the map of Australia with a foot standing firmly on the portion of Victoria. I believe this is an encouraging word that the fervent prayer of the righteous is effective! (James 5:16)

Today I asked the Lord “is this your foot?” And He said “No, it’s the foot of MY PEOPLE – tell them they have a foothold in the nation, and that the people of Victoria have their foot firmly planted on the vein of Victoria”. I didn’t understand what that meant until the foot lifted. As it did, I saw a black vein start to spread. It began in Victoria, but eventually as the root was not cut off, that poison started to spread across all of Australia. Then I saw the foot come back and stomp on the map, and immediately that vein stopped releasing poison across the nation.

The Lord then said, “Tell my people not to take their foot off the vein of Victoria. They must continue to have a foothold in this state”. I’m believing this to mean we must pray against the principalities and powers that mean to destroy All people. That no weapon formed against our nation would prosper.

Let me be very clear this is about prayer, and this is not about taking a side on various issues.

This is a war to be won in the spirit. Don’t take your foot off the vein of Victoria! Do not be weary in well doing! Keep praying, keep being a watchman on the walls! What happens here affects the whole nation.
I’m talking about spiritual principalities and powers. We need to keep our eyes on the spirit realm which is where everything stems from.

Joshua 1:3 “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.”

As we will show in coming weeks, an ungodly poison flows from the first permanent European settlement in this state – which was illegal, defying British law and murderous, even genocidal. The foundations of Victoria were wrongly laid because the first relationships between the original and immigrant people groups were broken by enmity – which is a state or feeling of active opposition or hostility, animosity – all indicating deep-seated dislike or ill will. Enmity, which derives from an Anglo-French word meaning “enemy,” suggests true hatred, either overt or concealed. Hostility implies strong, open enmity that shows itself in attacks or aggression. “adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; …those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21

I confess I’ve been tormented by enmity while we’ve been preparing this prayer strategy for the Victorian elections. Please examine Victoria and your own heart from the perspective of enmity – and deal with any enmity you have held toward Victoria – even in your prayer for Victoria.

Enmity takes us back to the foundations of the earth’s history, to sin and separation from God.
(Genesis 3:13-15, James 4:4) God holds us responsible for enmity in our motivation, intention and action – especially in the House of God. (Numbers 35:20-21, Hosea 9:7-8, Matthew 24:9-12)

“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then those who are in the flesh, cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.” Romans 8:7-10

The blood of Jesus has reconciled us to the commonwealth of Israel and the covenants of promise – making us one, “and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.” Ephesians 2:11-18

We claim the victory of Jesus over enmity to bring reconciliation between the people groups who were separated at the beginning of Victoria’s history.

God is reordering and renewing Victoria’s foundations.
God is raising those who will stand to be His people in this land – those who will stem evil and release the righteousness, peace and joy of His kingdom.

”…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.” Galatians 5:22-26


We invite you to come in the opposite spirit to enmity as you prayer for this election – to release your love for your Lord in love to your neighbours.

This live, online alphabetical listing of local councils will link those on Neighbourhood Prayer Watch in each council area to the relevant State Government electorates – for the Lower House Districts (Legislative Assembly) and the Upper House Regions (Legislative Council). It’s coming soon as Part 2 as this call!

Pray about who you could partner with to pray for your neighbours and neighbourhood in the lead up to this election. Find a partner or two or an existing group who is willing to pray for the elections, even as part of your existing meetings.

We plan to host an online time of prayer for the Victorian elections with representatives from all 79 local council areas. Let us know if you’d like to stand for your local area.
